Peltier Cooler

Apr - 23 - 2022

Peltier Cells or Thermoelectric-Coolers contain many "couples" which are bits of silicon doped with P-Type or N-Type impurities. When powered, they create a difference of temperature between the two sides. This provides a reduction of temperature within the box.

I utilized this effect to make a cooler. It consists of a cardboard box, packing foam, a temperature gauge, a Type-K thermocouple, and a TEC1 - 12706 Peltier Cell covered by copper tape for maximum contact with the thermocouple.

Stats:

Voltage: 12.0 Volts

Current ~1.38 Amps
